How Does Text Messaging Affect Our World Today?

Everyone knows that text messaging plays a huge role in the way we communicate daily from one person to another. The growing selection of acronyms  “lol”,”omg”, “brb”, “ttyl”, and abundance of emoticon choices at our fingertips has changed human interaction altogether. If we aren’t texting we are watching the person in line at the grocery store, beside us in the elevator, or walking down the street with their head down and fingers moving at lightning speed.

However, with all these texts going back and forth from our iPhone’s or BlackBerry’s not all of us realize the impact it has in our world today. That is why I when I came across the facsinating image below I wanted to share it with you all.

This graphic provides information on texting that I have never even thought of. As an avid texter myself I can say that some of the statistics below definitely suprised me. I assumed that there were billions of texters worldwide but 4.2 billion people means that 3 out of 5 human beings on Earth are sending and receiving SMS messages. Which is 5x the number of Facebook members and 4x the number of monthy Google users. Check out the image below for additional entertaining figures.
