Some Kaseya Partners hit with Malware

Updated: Jun 14

On Friday, July 2nd, some Kaseya partners were affected in a directed supply chain attack. The attack appears to have come from a hacking group based in Eastern Europe. A ransomware/malware variant encrypts data and requests payment for the decryption keys, which is a standard method of operation for most infections in recent years. The incident is under review by several agencies and organizations including the FBI, FireEye and other security assessment firms.

Though BIT is a Kaseya partner, we were not compromised in the attack and none of our clients were subject to risk during this incident. We are monitoring the situation closely and continue to look for ways to keep our infrastructure secure and provide peace of mind for our customers.
